Linksys is one of the market share leaders in home networking gear with a 39 percent share of the consumer, small-office and home-office retail market in North America.
Linksys will have access to Cisco's sales channels to address international markets, something it is just starting to do as it looks to increase its revenue.
Linksys CEO Victor Tsai said in an interview with CNET News.com in late January that despite the entry of big names, such as Microsoft and Sony, into the home networking market, Linksys could survive as a standalone company, but as the market matured there would be consolidation.

The TS-U200 is a device similar to the Linksys NSLU2 with Ethernet and two USB 2.0 ports.
Linksys has "fixed" the bug in their firmware that allowed my distribution to run :-(Routers purchased today will likely have the fixed firmware installed on them.

LinkSys is shipping a Linux-powered wireless access point (WAP) claimed to offer four times the range and 12 times the speed of WAPs based on 802.11a/b/g standards.
The standard effort was spearheaded in 2004 by Intel (whitepaper), only to stall a year later due to dissenting factions, according to ABI research.
LinkSys says that the 802.11n draft specification it implemented in the WRT300N requires backwards compatibility with 802.11b and 802.11g, and additionally requires that optimum speeds be maintained in mixed-mode environments.

We bought a basic Linksys ethernet router and hooked the wireless up to it with the hope that they would connect with each other easily and at least the wired computers would be able to connect reliably.
The Linksys support staff insist that it's easy to use, but I can promise you that it is not.

Also my experience of Linksys customer support is that they do not want to answer any questions that they can not use a standard response for - customer care in my opinion is very poor.
Discussions with Linksys, when I got through to an engineer, indicated that I had been misled but the simplistic advertising but the router retailer (not Amazon) and that the modem and router were not compatable with all ISP.
Then I connected my Linksys Wireless Router by changing it's default ip address (as it is setup as the same as the ADSL Modem from factory), and entering the TalkTalk username and password in the PPPoE WAN Connection Setup.

No fault of Linksys, but years with inept customer service apes, trained only to hold phones, ruined me. If I can not get a product to work in short order when other, equivalent products exist, I quickly return, exchange and try again.
Please search for the thread on the linksys support forum titled "BEFSR41 v4 intermittent drop of connection" which goes on for 4 pages with no reply from linksys support, I'd post a URL but that is against the review guidelines here at amazon.
LinkSys has put out a wired router that can be set up in minutes and without a glitch.
