Swiss Alpine Pass Route - Stage 3 - Linthal to Flüelen
It starts from Linthal, in the valley Southwest of Glarus, and after two days' walking, finishes in Flüelen on the shores of the Vierwaldstättersee (Lake Lucerne).
Linthal is at the end of the train line from Ziegelbrücke, with hourly connections.
Starting from the railway station at Linthal, one popular route is to climb up to Braunwald (either by footpath or by taking the cable train) and traversing across to the Urnerboden valley from there (see the Urnerboden map under links for a panoramic view).

This is the second stage of the Alpine Pass Route crossing the Richetlipass from Elm to Linthal.
In Linthal, the easiest place to find is the Hotel Bahnhof, right by the station (from CHF 40 for a room), with the Hotel Adler (from CHF 35 for a dorm) near the blue-faced clock, and the Hotel Raben (from CHF 45 for a room) near the red-faced clock.
Continuing to follow the signposts towards Richetlipass and Linthal, the path climbs up the grassy cow-munched slopes, all the time with a spectacular panorama down to the Elm valley.

www.cyclingnews.com presents the 68th Tour de Suisse
Aebersold was the longest survivor of an early breakaway and stayed away over the massive climbs of the Sustenpass and Klausenpass, attacking his remaining companions on the latter climb to solo into the finish with nearly three minutes advantage on Thorwald Veneberg (Rabobank).
For Jan Ullrich, today's stage was further proof of his rapidly improving form, and the German winner of Stage 1 is now the favourite to win the Tour de Suisse which finishes with a time trial on Sunday.
On the 25 km descent to the finish, Aebersold increased his advantage over Veneberg and Beuchat and crossed the line in Linthal after a long and deserved victory celebration in the final 250m of the stage.
