 | | RENOWNED for the 1874 British Open victory, Linthwaite Band marked their 150th anniversary on March 15 with a concert in St Paul's Hall, Huddersfield, and a reunion buffet supper. |
 | | Henry Wimpenny, son of the mill building contractor, is another of Linthwaite's vice presidents. |
 | | The programme included the Colne Valley march, written by Alfred Ashpole, Linthwaite's professional conductor 50 years ago, and J. White's march Warren House - named after the village pub where the band, standing in a shed at the back, rehearsed by the light of storm lanterns. |
