Which isn't to say that every game released between 1980 and 1989 was a stereotypical "Eighties Game", but much like movies and music videos, there were a few that you could see for just a few minutes and feel like you had stepped back in time 20 years.
If playing the game gives you some insight as to what issues were on people's minds back then, and how people felt about different subjects, it does better on the list.
A game that nobody played or knew about that had zero influence on the world, which is why all the games on this list are fairly mainstream titles that you have probably heard of.

A very cool and stylish PS2 game, this game is a shooter, but keeps the genre fresh with cool techno beats and new gameplay elements.

Which means despite the 3DO Panasonic FZ-1 being one of the most expensive consoles on its release, it has, minute-for-minute probably proved to be one of the most cost effect forms of entertainment I have ever bought!
The game tells you to press a sequence of keys and you, within a time limit, must press the correct sequence of keys.
Having played D back in the day, and more recently the entire Warp 3DO catelogue, I've been trying to figure out Warp and its merry little band of wacky developers, artists and musicians were upto in the early 1990s.

Here is a list of all the computer games I have credits on.
I worked on a four or five characters and animations for this low-poly game, using the Lithtech engine, but they were townsfolk and the game changed--so townsfolk were cut.
I designed over half of the characters in the game and created and animated about a fourth of them, along with a number of other artists.

It is somewhere between a game engine, and a programming language, allowing designers to create locations, items and dialogue sequences without writing code in the actual language the game source code would end up in.
This also meant that the game's script and data files could be re-used across various platforms.
"Talk to" produces dialogue sequences, in which the player selects from a list of pre-defined questions or comments, and the character they are talking to replies with a pre-defined response.

 Inside Mac Games News: 3DO Files for Chapter 11
Trip Hawkins, CEO of 3DO, notes that though 3DO will continue to pursue opportunities, the main focus right now is on selling either the company itself or its assets.
As for what this means to Mac gamers, 3DO currently holds the rights to the Might and Magic series, including the upcoming Heroes of Might and Magic V.
While HOMM V was mentioned as coming to the Mac in an interview reported on earlier this week, we don't know if this will change those plans, as the interview also mentioned that a contract had not yet been ironed out concerning the Mac version.

This game is a lot more fun than it really should be.
It would be ranked higher, but after the first couple of hours you switch characters and from there the game sucks.

Notes: On August 1 1998, finished collection all titles on this list which seem to be all of the U.S. 3DO titles, that I know of at this time.
I have noticed that 3do games are becoming almost non-existence at the few big video game stores that had them in my area.
With the 3do hooked to an audio/ mic mixer and attached to a sound system.
