Frank James Malzone (born February 28, 1930 in Bronx, New York) is a former Major League Baseball third baseman and right-handed batter who played for the Boston Red Sox (1955-65) and California Angels (1966).
In 1957, in his first full season with the Red Sox, he had a season-high 103 RBI and tied an American League record for a third baseman with 10 assists in a game.
He was an All-Star six times (1957-60, 1963-64) and won three straight Gold Glove Awards (1957-59).

And it's not as if third base is an easy position to play; it requires great reflexes, a strong arm, and the versatility to handle a wide variety of plays.
Bell was on my short list of candidates for the AL Gold Glove at this position in 2001, but I gave the nod to Chavez partly because Bell didn't play as much (26 fewer starts).
