There has been very little response in the media or the blogs to the death last week of Boris Trajkovski, the president of Macedonia, in a plane crash in the mountains of Bosnia.
I remember only a few years ago when Macedonia was the focus of intense anxiety as yet another civil war in the former Yugoslavia seemed imminent.
He managed to steer his country away from civil war by granting concessions to the sizeable Albanian minority.
