New aircraft lessor Low-Cost Aircraft Leasing ordered six Boeing Co. 787 planes and said it was close to finalizing a deal for nine more for a combined $1.9 billion at list prices.
On Monday, Boeing revealed its first leasing company buyers of the hot-selling 787 Dreamliner midsize aircraft due in 2008.
Boeing appeared to be in the lead, with $14.3 billion of orders so far, compared with $8.24 billion for Airbus.

Chicago-based Boeing will surpass European rival Airbus in firm orders for new commercial airplanes this year.

SEATTLE, Dec. 13, 2005 -- The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] and Qantas announced today that the airline has selected the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and plans to buy up to 115 787s for renewal and expansion of its long-haul fleet.
The first four 787-8s will be delivered to Qantas' Jetstar subsidiary in 2008, with plans for a total of 28 to be in operation with Qantas and Jetstar by December 2011.
Boeing and Qantas are finalizing an agreement that will include orders for 45 Dreamliners, with 20 options plus purchase rights for an additional 50 airplanes.

 HeraldNet: New Zealand Air orders two 787s
Air New Zealand has ordered another two 787s from the Boeing Co. Last year, the airline became a Dreamliner launch customer by ordering two of Boeing's new jets, plus eight 777s.
The New Zealand Press Association said the airline would pay $117 million apiece for the 787-8s, which have a Boeing list price of $125 million to $135 million.
Later this week, Air New Zealand officials will be in Everett to take possession of the first of the planes from last year's order, a 777-200ER.

 Boeing announces ILFC order for 20 737s, eight 777s
The ILFC order is valued at nearly 2.9 billion dollars (2.4 billion euros) at list prices, Boeing said on the second day of the week-long Paris Air Show at Le Bourget Airport near Paris.
Alan Mulally, the head of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, told a news conference the company was in "intense negotiation" with ILFC on an order for the new fuel-efficient 787.
The order brings ILFC's total 737 aircraft orders to 417, with 78 future deliveries, and total 777 aircraft orders to 75, with 27 remaining to be delivered.

(AP) SEATTLE Iceland Air today says it will order two of Boeing Company's new 787 airplanes as part of plans to expand its long-range routes from Iceland.

McNerney said he wasn't sure if the 767 tanker deal could be rescued in its current form, or how plans by European rival Airbus for its own versions of a tanker would affect Boeing's competitive edge.
