In the Cabinet of Canada, The Minister of International Trade (French: Ministre du Commerce international) is the head of the federal government's international trade department (International Trade Canada) and the provisions of treaties such as NAFTA.
This title changed to Minister of International Trade under Prime Minister Paul Martin when he split the former Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
The current Minister of International Trade is the Honourable David Emerson.

Canadian and European histories usually treat the final contest for the continent as beginning in 1756, with the opening of the Seven Years' War.
The first Canadian contingent, numbering 33,000, reached England soon after the outbreak of war in 1914, and it was in the thick of the fighting on the continent a few months later in the second battle of Ypres.
