On being detached from the 29th Division, the commanding officer of B Company was presented with the Bronze Star for the meritorious manner in which his company had carried out the support of the various combat teams of the division.
It was here that General Hayes, Artillery General of the 2nd Division, remarked on the accuracy of the 4.2s, as he had observed the first round of adjustment hit the rump of a horse; the target having been a convoy of horse-drawn wagons.
Division and corps artillery were strictly rationed on ammunition, their fires being limited to registration and emergency missions; consequently, the entire artillery support for a time was furnished by the 4.2s and TDs.

 Official History in Canada
The Canadian Government appointed a correspondent in England to "give the public of Canada an account of the performance of Canadian troops" and that this would be done "by means of daily cables." The correspondent was an expatriate Canadian, Sir Max Aitken (better known as Lord Beaverbrook).
Canadians had flown with great distinction as part of the RAF in the First World War, but no real Canadian air service was established until the beginning of the second.
Canadian airmen had largely been ignored in the British official history, owing to an inherent concept of dominions as colonies, still evident in Britain during the Second World War.

At the end of this section of the book comes the "Gebirgstruppe command list" for 10 December 1944 (with a list of units, commanders, and chiefs of staff as of that date), a list of "wearers of high-ranking decorations," and a list of mountain divisions named in OKW communiques during 1943-45.
The role of this, the only mountain training division, was to train the regiments, battalions and independent battalions under its command in occupied territory until they were combat ready.
The division remained in that area, but as the Allies approached northern Italy it was subordinated directly to the AOK 10 of Army Group C. In February 1945 the division, which was still referred to and led as a reserve division, was sent into the front.

On the fall of Abyssinia, she took part of the West African Division from Berbera to Durban where they were transhipped, and later was employed ferrying American troops from Oran to Naples in the final phases of the Italian campaign.
In August 1945 she was the commodore ship of the invasion force which was to re-occupy Malaya, and after the surrender of Japan, she carried 1,700 prisoners of war from Rangoon to Liverpool in September.

Here a list of Italian Binoculars makers in order of age: Koritska Milano: They made photographic lenses, microscopes, survey optics and after WWI binoculars also.I have heard more times that the binoculars issued to lookouts on board of Italian Subarines during WWII were Koritska 7x50.
A reference is made to a list assembled by William Prentice in 1969, of binoculars manufactured between 10 April 1919 and 12 January 1920, which has apparently been superceded in places by Reid's book.
I have been developing a list of binoculars that they will fit, and which size filter is necessary for each binocular, but the list is far from complete.

This cap was worn by most of the British Army from 1937 until the end of WWII.
These were worn by all Scottish troops, and later in the war by all troops assigned to the Highland Divisions.
