 Survey: science news fighting for space in Chinese newspapers
Chinese newspapers are paying little attention to the coverage of scientific news, according to a recent survey by the country's media.
A six-month-long study conducted by a Beijing-based association of science reporters and editors on 14 newspapers, including People's Daily, China Youth Daily and Beijing News, shows that science news is well down the list of priorities for Chinese newspapers.
In the newspaper with the fewest science stories, reporting of scientific issues merely occupied 1.6 percent of its news total, said Huang Tianxiang, director general of the association.

Southern Weekly recently conducted a survey of the richest entrepreneurs on the Chinese mainland, all of whom had an average individual wealth of 2.202 billion yuan.
While 55 percent of these men on took part in the survey and returned their questionnaires, only 33 of them were valid.
