		Being a girl fronted rock band immediately means the music media and potential fans alike listen for similarities to Evanescence and No Doubt, and while occasional similarities do undoubtedly exist Mia Richards has invented an entirely new style of her own.
		Bands can come up with some really strange self-descriptions sometimes, but this one is pretty much on-target, specially the "heavy-melodic" part.
		It's rare to hear a band, and especially an American band, playing a heavy type of music that is so completely melodic and accessible and… to clumsily coin a word… sing-alongable.

		I'm afraid the trouble with a lot of the Christian bands is the extreme cheesiness of the lyrics.
		Although not nearly as "Christian" in his songwriting as he'd later become, Phil Keaggy's first band Glass Harp could really be considered the first band to fuse prog rock stylings with spiritual lyrics.
		HM used to be called Heaven's Metal back in the day now they are HM, but they recently started up the mag again to cover metal more in particular instead of hard rock music as a whole.

		Whitecross was probably my favourite of the Christian metal bands.
		I'm not sure how Jerusalem would be characterized but their album "Dancing on the Head of the Serpent" had some heavy moments even with the synthesizers.
		definitely out of the normal realms of what one normally considers metal, but they were much more so than a lot of the bands that have been mentioned on here.

		I like bands such as PAX217 and Chevelle as well as some older bands like Stryper, Angelica and Sacred Warrior.
		Proto metal was based on a blues scale while "true" metal was more chromatic.
		All these bands experimented with blues based "proto" metal so that is what I prefer if I am going to listen to metal.

		That being said I woud say Stavesacre aren't exactly metal but to imply that their music isn't metal at all is a tough pill to swallow.
		you guys pretty much named every band I was going to, so now I have to try and think of some really random bands...
		I thought they were ok but if they would have been able to record on a bigger budget they would have been excellent.
