 | | Although Christian Science is mentioned relatively infrequently in science fiction and fantasy, it is interesting to note that out of 66 novels which have won the Hugo or Nebula awards, 6 of them mention Christian Science (9%). |
 | | Christian Science is mentioned more frequently than denominational families much larger than it, including Methodists, Presbyterians, Jehovah's Witnesses, etc. Espousing a fairly unusual worldview, and with followers among America's cultural icons (Marilyn Monroe, Jim Henson, etc), it is not surprising that this faith shows up at least occasionally in popular literature. |
