 Cong finalises 19 nominees in MP - Sify.com
The state screening committee had submitted a list of candidates for 21 Lok Sabha constituencies but had left a decision on Satna and Reva to Arjun Singh, Gwalior and Guna to Jyotiraditya Scindia and Rajgarh for Digvijay Singh.
New Delhi: The Congress has finalised candidates for at least 19 Lok Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh but kept pending a decision on Gwalior and Rajgarh constituencies where late leader Madhavrao Scindia's wife Madhaviraje and former Chief Minister Digivijay Singh are being favoured for contesting.
While the name of Madhviraje Scindia, mother of Jyotiraditya Scindia, was being mentioned in party circles, it was not not immediately clear whether Digvijay Singh would contest from Rajgarh once represented by his brother Lakshman who joined BJP.

Aug 4: A high political drama enveloped West Bengal when distraught Trinamul Congress (TMC) supremo Mamta Banerjee resigned from Lok Sabha when the Deputy Speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal refused to admit her adjournment motion about infiltration in West Bengal and proposed politically motivated delimitation of Assembly constituencies.
Later, speaker Somnath Chatterjee turned down the resignation letter from Mamta, saying it could not be treated as a resignation letter from the MP post.

The Congress today called upon the Election Commission to probe alleged "irregularities'' in the conduct of election in the Bhiwani Lok Sabha constituency at the "behest'' of the ruling Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) in Haryana.
In a statement, the party spokesman, Krishan Murti Hooda, a former Haryana Minister, alleged that names of thousands of eligible voters, including Congress workers, had been "deleted'' from the voters' list depriving them of their legitimate right to exercise their franchise.
He criticised attempts by Ajay Singh Chautala, INLD candidate from Bhiwani and son of the Chief Minister, Om Prakash Chautala, to allegedly resort to "muscle power'' in the Dadri Assembly segment.

 The Hindu : Poll arrangements complete in Koppal Lok Sabha segment
However, it has decided to classify sensitive polling stations in the Lok Sabha constituency after verifying the final list of candidates from various political parties and independents.
There are 8,63,097 voters in the five Assembly constituencies in Koppal district, an increase of 1,09,890 voters over the number in the last elections.
It has identified 1,481 polling booths in the Koppal Lok Sabha constituency comprising Koppal, Kustagi, Yelburga, Gangavathi and Kanakagiri Assembly segments in Koppal district, Mundargi Assembly segment in Gadag district, Sindhanoor Assembly segment in Raichur district and Hospet Assembly segment in Bellary district.

Representatives of the Urs Samyuktha Paksha and the Janata Dal (United), which have decided to contest the elections to the Lok Sabha and Assembly in the State on a common symbol, will meet leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Delhi on Wednesday to discuss seat sharing and allocation of constituencies.
The election committees of the two parties have initiated the process of selection of candidates, and the list will be finalised after discussion with the Defence Minister and NDA leader, George Fernandes, according to I.M. Jayarama Shetty, President of the State unit of the JD(U) and Srihari L. Khoday, President of Urs Samyuktha Party.
Addressing a press conference here today, they said there was no dearth of good candidates.
