List of cruiserweight boxing champions - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Since the WBC was the only sanctioning body to recognize a Cruiserweight division at the time, he is considered by some as an undisputed champion.
The cruiserweight class was inaugurated by the WBC in 1979, and the belt was to be decided by the winner of a fight between Mate Parlov and Marvin Camel.
The bout ended in a draw, and the champion wasn't crowned until their rematch on 31 March 1980, which was won by Camel.

Boxing - definition of Boxing - Labor Law Talk Dictionary (via CobWeb/3.1 planetlab2.tamu.edu)   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-11)
In the late 19th and early 20th century, amateur boxing was encouraged in schools, universities and in the armed forces, but the champions, in the main, came from among the urban poor.
The most famous of all three-way partnership (fighter-manager-promoter) was that of Jack Dempsey (Heavyweight Champion, 1919-1926), his manager Jack Kearns, and the promoter Tex Rickard.
By the end of the 20th century, a boxer had to be recognized by four separate bodies to be the "undisputed champion" of the world, and each year saw over 100 "title-fights" take place in up to seventeen weight divisions.

 Cruiserweight
Cruiserweight wrestlers are generally shorter and possess less muscle bulk than Heavyweights, a build which lends itself to a high-flying wrestling style.
While there are many Cruiserweights who specialise in alternate wrestling styles, cruiserweights are strongly associated with moves performed from the top rope and moves requiring a degree of speed, agility, balance and torque.
Championships contested by Cruiserweights cannot be held by wrestlers who are not Cruiserweights, but Cruiserweights are normally eligible to compete for Heavyweight championships.

Long considered to be the wasteland between heavyweight and light heavyweight, the now-200-pound division was known for years for its faceless title holders and less than compelling action.
Davis (20-2-1, 15 KOs), who may be a good reason to put your cruiserweight bias aside this Saturday when he takes on Ezra Sellers for the vacant IBF title on a Showtime-televised broadcast from Miami, disagrees.
He just may be right, as the wasteland is suddenly showing signs of life, even with James Toney abandoning the cruiserweights for the greener pastures at heavyweight.

Boxing Champions Sony Play Station 2 Video Game Review by AceGamez
Boxing Champions falls firmly into the latter category and is one of the most unrewarding titles I've played in a long while.
They're split into lightweight, cruiserweight and heavyweight and each have what is laughably called a special move.
The collision detection is generally good enough to avoid frustration and whilst the animation doesn't do the title any favours, it's pacey and furious enough to make you want to chuck it in your machine every now and again for a spot of stress relief.
