Somehow the young man has got to tell this dead woman that he doesn't want to be married to her, that their differences are too great (she's dead, he's alive).
Though I was a big fan of the TV series (it's based on Firefly, the show Fox cancelled after 11 episodes), I was a little unsure how everything would transfer to the big screen.
All that I got from the previews and it intrigued me, but I expected whatever resolution to be weak and I wasn't disappointed.

Movies which were prototypes of "The Twilight Zone"
I invite you to ruminate over your memories in the same way for a list of older movies that are, at least in part, prototypes of "The Twilight Zone" television series and of specific episodes of it.
(What really points to the episode's possible origin as a planned theatrical film is that the detective role is played (unbilled) by Warren William, who at the time of the episode's 1950 copyright had been dead two years.
On "The Twilight Zone," Dennis Weaver played an unhinged defendant who unsuccessfully tries to tell judges and prosecutors that they are figments of his imagination who if they don't cease night after night sentencing him to death, will allow their subjective mentality to force a lifetime of insanity upon the hapless defendant.

No longer riding the initial momentum of the premiere, ABC felt Galactica wasn't getting high enough ratings for the investment they put in the show, and believed it could maintain or exceed its ratings in a show with a much lower investment value.

Interestingly, I just finished watching the 'Behind the Scenes' feature on the Harsh Realm disks and the comic book lawsuit didn't come up at all: Carter and all of his production staff lay the blame almost exclusively on the ratings and the failure of the show to 'find an audience'.

 Battlestar Galactica
Galactica was a cool show for me growing up, a kid of 12 liked sci-fi so much that he overlooked all the ridiculous things that happened, the dead Colonial Warriors wearing the white suits, the introduction of The Eastern Alliance, even the crash test dummy robots that helped aid Gage DeSoto, formerly of Emergency.
Battlestar Galactica was about the remains of the 12 Colonies of Man (names coming from the Zodiac) who band together and search for the legendary 13th Tribe (Earth) after being wipe-out by their 1,000 yahren (Colonial term for years) enemies, the Cylons.
The executive producer of "Battlestar Galactica", Glen Larson, was into Mormonism at the time and this show alluded to it from the beginning with the whole "lost tribes searching for a new home" theme, reminiscent of Joseph Smith and his followers' migration to Utah and other elements of Mormon teachings.

And for a matter of moments during the show's debut episode, this ëoddity' really seems like it might make for a nice slice of brain-dead sitcom glee.
But overall, these 36 episodes are a whole lot of nothing - a showcase for a series that had a kitschy, vampy idea and drove it into the ground.
Watching Dick York and Elizabeth Montgomery freak out their neighbors and share a handful of in-jokes during each episode is one thing, but after the newness of their unique marriage becomes standard information, the show turns completely limp, leaning on tired gags and uninventive plot devices to drive the series along.

 Barnes & Noble.com - Desperate Housewives - Season 1 -- Teri Hatcher - DVD
The sexual intrigues of Wisteria Lane were augmented (during the first season at least) by the mysterious activities of Mary Alice's husband, Paul (Mark Moses) -- including digging up the backyard swimming pool in the dead of night -- and the strange emotional outbursts of their tormented, unstable son, Zach (Cody Kasch).
That Wisteria Lane was not as quiet and respectable as it appeared at first glance was brought home forcibly in the opening episode, when housewife Mary Alice Young (Brenda Strong) committed suicide right in the middle of her comfortable living room.
Of course, no soap opera would be complete without the requisite male heartthrob: new hunky neighbor Mike Delfino (James Denton) moves in next to Susan and becomes the object of her -- and Edie's -- attraction.

Desperate Housewives is ok but every time I watch it I get sort of confused and think that the people are in a suburb-like place in the 1950's or early 1960's because of the way the women think and behave.
