 Dendrobium heterocarpum : Species Specific, Plant of the Month
Whether Dendrobium heterocarpum is flowering out of synch for some reason, or just plain flowering for a second time, I’m not really sure.
Dendrobium heterocarpum is a cool growing plant which can be found growing in many of the Himalayan countries down to the Philippines.
I think, in the Dendrobium species, it is only matched by D. draconis.

On the list I ordered the D. christyanum gigantium from, it was misspelled as D. cristianum gigantia.
I knew the species name had to be a misspelling.
As near as I can determine it is probably the same species as what is called D. crepidiferum in Baker and Baker's tome.

I checked the Baker and Baker book and it is a described species alright but one I've never heard of before.
Apparently there is/was such a Dendrobium in section Pedilonum but I have never heard of it and is probably called something else now.
Have you checked other references such as the book on Dendrobiums by Charles and Margaret Baker which has a fairly comprehensive list of Dendrobium species.
