Whereas Emo music tends to wrestle the inner demons of personal defeat, loveloss, heartache etc. "Hardcore" tends to wrestle that big hairy smelly guy in the pit next to you.

 Blogcritics.org: Sunday Morning Playlist: Emo
Emo is a style of rock that reached its zenith towards the end of the 1990's; its roots lie in hardcore punk, although emo itself isn't punk rock; it also owes some debt to grunge, but it isn't grunge, either.
On the positive side, emo is a less threatening, more musical hardcore which retains an anti-authority, anti-commericial aesthetic; it is perhaps most concerned with 'authenticity' and conveying an untainted, uncompromised vision independant of what record labels push for.
on the other hand, the number of emo bands straddlin the rock world at the minute, the number of them cynically exploiting the emotions of their fans for nothin other than commercial gain, that shit i can't get behind for a damn second.

Their music backgrounds differ, Julia and Evergreen both produced some of the richest Emo sounds, while Shotmaker railed off hardcore punk and found their niches in the brutal honesty of the human voice.
Done well, the result was powerful emotional release that often left Emo bands and their audiences crying or screaming or very quiet at the end of performances.

 Decoymusic.com - The "EMO" Debate
Now, when we pigeonhole many, many, many groups into a genre (not that i believe emo to be a genre in a true sense of the word).
I think you're hitting on a much bigger issue that has little to do with how emotional a song is. Any category or genre (as we call them in music) has it's basis in the things that comprise it, but its meaning is completely interpretive.
I don't think I was arguing, "who's emo and who's not" i'm more interested in the term being abandoned altogether, as through gross overuse it's lost its meaning.

Seattlest wonders most about the mules—the women who cross the border, head to downtown Vancouver to purchase the drugs, and then stash them in their bodies to bring them back for sale at over 100% markup by Phair (some days she was clearing as much as $15,000 pure profit).
Apparently, rival Lummi drug dealers each have their own group of women who run the drugs, and are constantly trying to steal them from each other.
We just don't see how the border patrol types aren't recognizing the usual suspects, since the Oxycontin trade on reservations in Washington (and elsewhere) is clearly known to be on the rise by law enforcement types.

This list of Christian spiritual phenomena from ardent religious practitioners includes visions, the reading of another's thoughts, incendium amoris [kundalini heat], stigmata, bilocation [yang shen emanations], levitation, compenetration of bodies, bodily incombustibility, inedia [the body becomes full of chi], bodily incorruptibility [the mai have been transformed], locutions, and so on.
