Firefly is also about adult emotional relationships, for example Kaylee's crush on Simon, the happy marriage of Mal's second officer Zoe and the pilot Wash, the disastrous erotic stalemate between Mal and the courtesan Inara.
Features every episode from the hit television science fiction programme which tells the story of the crew of a spaceship five hundred years in the future.
The Firefly 'verse is fascinating and you will be left with a profound sadness that the series finished without exploring it fully (a film will not be enought to do it justice).

A scene was slightly trimmed by Joss Whedon for the DVD version of "Objects In Space." This corrects exposition necessary in the broadcast version because "Heart Of Gold" was not aired before.
All the episodes now have an end card reading "Executive Producers / Joss Whedon / Tim Minear" in a fire-glowy font in place of the original fire-glowy Chinese glyph of Serenity.

Of course chatting in forums is nice, but a mailing list is even better - the fastest way to spread news, to coordinate our efforts of keeping the show alive, and - last but not least - to get to know all the other fans out there.
For security reasons, the mailing list is hosted on the very same server this site resides on (running under the domain of "acorn.de"), so we're not dependent on some commercial provider.
Please note that the list is still in testing, so hiccups of any kind may occur (you have been warned ;).

Top 20 Buffy Episodes (all of which were better than “The Pack”)--- Yeah, “Buffy” ain’t what she used to be, but keep in mind we all got hooked on this show in 1997 or 1998, when the TV landscape was void of geek sensibilities.
On a Firefly note, I thought I'd post something I typed up a couple days ago about the reasons of fact (not opinion, like the "western motif" is) as to why it's got the ratings that led to its cancellation by Fox, who doomed it from the start.
Firefly- Yeah, I sound like a Whedon shill and to be honest, I only got to watch a few episodes thanks to my work schedule, it's timeslot, it's pre-emptions and my stupid memory.

Survival Arts: Firefly: I can't recommend it highly enough
Friends on the smith2004-discuss list had been raving about a short-lived 2002 Fox television series called "Firefly," which had been cancelled due to poor ratings.
As a matter of fact, of the 14 episodes that were produced, 10 were aired, and most of those out of sequence.
"Firefly", however, is apparently the series that Whedon really wanted to do all along, an impression made stronger by his having actually said so (you'll have to see it in the "Extras" section of DVD #4).

Initial response has been impressive, with the preorders making the DVD skyrocket to near the top of the Amazon DVD Top Seller List (a ranking which may or may not last, but is still cool and might help sell the idea of a movie).
The DVD set contains all episodes of Firefly, including the three that were never aired in the US, and the notorious Firefly gag reel.
Showing the episodes out of order and prematurely cancelling this series are a couple of the stupidest things Fox has done in a very long time.

They still made sense on a very low level, i.e., there weren't a lot of plot points that were part of the continuing arc that ended up being out of order in the order they were aired, but this show is so much better if you see it in the order intended.
It has nine main characters, all of which are fairly well developed in the pilot episode, who then grow and change but remain true to their characters as originally conceived throughout the rest of the series.

And what a grand "Firefly" movie it is - Whedon pulls-out all the stops and takes big risks to make the sort of daring and satisfying cinematic sci-fi spin-off that Rick Berman or Chris Carter only flirted with.
Whedon the director is a true revelation here, making his $40 million-ish budget look like at least twice that, and showing equal talent with action and character development.
