A subject list, in three sections, of theses submitted for a variety of degrees: (1) Linguistic studies and stylistics; (2) Literary, historical, and sociological studies not referring to a specific writer, historical figure, or anonymous; (3) Alphabetical list of writers, historical figures, and anonymous works.
Lists French verse anthologies of the 16th century, describes their contents, and identifies many of the anonymous items they include.
Volume 1 provides a chronological list of notable giftbooks, keepsakes, anthologies of prose and verse, and a few periodicals, and gives for each basic bibliographic data, the names of the contributors, the number of their contributions, and in some important cases their titles or first lines.
