  Encyclopedia: List of Germans
The German language and the feeling of "Germanhood" go back more than a thousand years, but the state now known as Germany was unified as a modern nation-state only in 1871 in Versailles, when the German Empire, dominated by Prussia, was forged excluding Austria that was to remain a multi-ethnic empire for another 50 years.
The Germans were apparently mislead by the Commission, which suggested the same thing - that the visor hydraulics had broken the superstructure structure - even if the Commission said it was before the listing occurred at 01.15 hrs, when the ship was upright.
Therefore, in its later findings 1999 and conclusions the Germans, like the Commission changed its mind about the sequence of events, and actually suggest that the hull of the 'Estonia' was leaking before the sudden listing and that it caused the sinking.

 Music of Germany
The first form of German pop music is said to be cabaret, which arose during the Weimar Republic as the sensual music of late-night clubs.
Much of the 20th century saw German culture appropriated for the ruling powers (who fought "foreign" music at the same time), and thus it remained decidedly "unhip" until later in the century.
Biermosl Blosn, however, is the most well-known band of the alternative boom; they are famous for their humorous lyrics poking fun at right-wing politicians and controversial satires, such as replacing the Bavarian national anthem's lyrics with words attacking Bavaria's Minister President Franz Josef Strauss in 1980, leading to a long-time ban from TV.

Standing Fast: German defensive doctrine on the Russian front during world war II
German defensive operations were hobbled not only by allies of varying style and ability, but also by large differences in the training, mobility, composition, and combat power of German units as well.
German offensive and defensive tactics were based on Seeckt's theories of maneuver and aggressive action and were in effect until the early 1930s.
German antitank measures followed the 1918 outlines: enemy tanks would have their accompanying infantry stripped away; their advance would be obstructed by mines and obstacles; and a mixture of direct-fire artillery, antitank gunfire, and individual close assault would destroy those tanks that actually penetrated the German defensive positions.

Krautrock refers to the legions of German bands of the early '70s that expanded the sonic possibilities of art and progressive rock.
Instead of following in the direction of their British and American counterparts, who were moving toward jazz and classical-based compositions and concept albums, the German bands became more mechanical and electronic.
Although the bands didn't make much of an impact while they were active in the '70s, their music anticipated much post-punk of the early '80s, particularly industrial rock.
