German Economy Minister Joachim Wuermeling told the Tagespiegel newspaper previously that 'a temporary acquisition of EADS shares by the KFW (State-owned development bank Kreditanstalt fuer Wiederaufbau) to support German interests in the aerospace firm was possible.'
Recent reports have said that the German government is concerned it will lose influence in the pan-European aerospace and defence group as DaimlerChrysler AG pares down its EADS shareholding.

NATO is likely to agree to take formal command of several military zones in Iraq in the second half of this year, the German weekly magazine Der Spiegel said in its issue to be published on Monday.
The paper said the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, which was deeply split last year over the decision by the United States and Britain to invade Iraq, would discuss the issue at an international security conference to take place in the south German city of Munich early next month.
This year's International Security Conference, an annual event based in Munich which attracts defence ministers and contractors from major world powers, is due to take place from February 6 to 8.
