Glossary of Terms Used In The Entertainment Industry
Means "the god from the machine." In Greek classical drama, an actual machine (a crane perhaps) lowered the actor playing the god into the center of the action so that he or she could unravel the plot complications and direct the denouement.
Named for Dionysus, the Greek god of wine and fertility, whose festival, celebrated with drunkenness and licentiousness, is considered by many to be the birth of drama.
A Greek poet (550 - 500 B.C.) usually considered the founder of drama because he was the first one to use an actor in addition to the chorus in his plays.

Greek wine article - Pride after a fall - by Constantine Stergides
Greek wine sales to the UK suffered a surprise fall last year as buyers played safe, yet many remain convinced that better times are just around the corner.
Thus, at the supermarket level, Greece is unable to capitalise on the publicity that Oddbins has generated to sell inexpensive, mass-market wines that would boost its volumes.

Greek wine article - The failing influence of retsina - by Constantine Stergides
Even Vassilis Kourtakis, the undisputed world wide brand leader of retsina and president of the Greek Wine Federation, regrets its influence in shaping an image of Greek wine, which he claims is as false as it is sticky.
Nowadays, bulk-quality wine is widely found in supermarkets, either in 5 litre demi-johns or even dispensed on the spot thanks to refrigerated, bag-in-box type machines.
It is hardly surprising then, that some of the country's leading winemakers have been driven, in exasperation, to create their own vineyards in the region.

The article primarily focuses on fusing e-commerce with offline shopping but these techniques can be applied to any industry that has large numbers of individual customers conducting large numbers of transactions.
A farther-out approach—bringing e-commerce to the supermarket shopping cart—is being tested by Stop and Shop of Quincy, MA, which operates 350 supermarkets in the Northeast.
On the favorites list are the names of the things the shopper buys most frequently, whether he buys them in the store or has them delivered to his house by Peapod—which, in a neat post-bubble twist, Stop and Shop’s parent company now owns.
