The Knesset (כנסת, Hebrew for "assembly") is the Parliament of Israel.
The legislative branch of the Israeli government, the Knesset enacts laws, elects the prime minister (although he is ceremonially appointed by the President), supervises the work of the government, reserves the power to remove the President of the State and the State Comptroller from office and to dissolve itself and call new elections.
The current Knesset building is located on a hilltop in the west of Jerusalem, it was paid for by James A. de Rothschild as a gift to the State of Israel.

The list of candidates for the Knesset shall be submitted only by a party; the means of association and registering of the parties and the conditions for submitting a list of candidates shall be determined by law.
If the speaker of the Knesset has called upon its members to make their declarations of allegiance and a member has not done so, that member shall not enjoy the rights of membership as long as he has not made the declaration.
The meetings of the Knesset shall be held at its place of sitting; however, in special circumstances the speaker of the Knesset may, in consultation with the deputy speakers, convene the Knesset elsewhere.

He was a Rav-Shaliach (emissary) for Bnei Akiva in Europe and the rabbi of Himmelfarb High School, Jerusalem, teaches at the Ma’aleh School for Communication and is presently the rabbi of Beit Knesset HaRamban in the Katamon neighborhood of Jerusalem.
He has been an active academic leader at Yeshiva University where he has served as chairperson of the undergraduate faculty, is a member of the steering committee of the Orthodox Forum (a think tank devoted to issues confronting the centrist orthodox community), and also served on the presidential search committee.
He was honored by Yeshiva College with the Revel Memorial Award in 1994 for outstanding leadership in the field of Religion and Religious Education.
