Some South Korean television programs are available on satellite and multicultural channels in North America.
Korean dramas have become popular in other East Asian countries, with whole sets of videotapes or DVDs of series available, complete with Chinese subtitles.

KBS (한국방송공사, Korean Broadcasting System) is one of three major South Korean television networks.
The state-owned network is famous for nightly newscasts and lavish historical dramas, although private networks such as MBC and SBS have produced excellent historical dramas in recent years as well.
In 2002, the KBS Korean drama, Winter Sonata, which was directed by the KBS director Yun Suk Ho, brought KBS to a high level of honour and respect.
