There are Libertarians working within the Democratic Party (the Democratic Freedom Caucus) and within the Republican Party (where the Republican Liberty Caucus claims to share members with both the Christian Coalition and the Log Cabin Republicans (a homosexual group)).
I once saw an argument crossposted to several USENET newsgroups, where the posters were not familiar with each other - so it was quite amusing when a leftist told his opponents that he would not listen to their fundamentalist Christian views; and was promptly informed by several of the participants that they were atheists.
