The Luftwaffe of the Third Reich officially existed from 1933-1945, training for a German air force had been going on as earlier the 1920's before the Nazi's came to power.

Aircraft wearing combinations of old and new camouflage colours are known through photographic evidence and by November 1944 the newer RLM colours 81 and 82 were becoming available to factories and started to appear on fighter aircraft.
By the end of the war the situation was such that single-coloured Me 262s and even unpainted ones were encountered in increasing numbers by the Allies, not in the skies but scattered and decaying in dark forests and on abandoned airfields.

However, the most objectionable thing of all are the captions to the photos of the Luftwaffe aircraft that are included (many of which are old standard shots seen many times before) which are often completely misidentified as to the manufacturer, major type of aircraft, the sub-type, the location, unit, date and other information.
This is one of the worst books in my collection of over 500 books on the Luftwaffe and not worth buying.
