Marvel Comics was founded in the 1930s under a constantly changing set of names, the most cited being Timely Comics.
In 1988, Marvel was bought by investor/entrepreneur Ronald Perelman, who made Marvel a public company listed on the New York Stock Exchange and oversaw a great increase in the number of titles published by the company.
Investor Carl Icahn attempted to take control of Marvel, but after protracted legal battles, in 1997 control of the company landed in the hands of Isaac Perlmutter, owner of the Marvel subsidiary Toy Biz.

The insignia of Captain Marvel (who changes into a superhero from young news radio broadcaster Billy Batson) symbolizes the squadron’s belief that future battles would separate the boys from the men, and also represents the importance of the “man behind the machine” in all phases of a successful mission.
Captain Marvel is re-marketed to a British audience under the name of Marvelman, and flourishes in the late 1950’s as reinvented by artist Mick Anglo; the Miller line of comics was discontinued in 1963.
DC is unable to use the name Captain Marvel as a title, due to Marvel Comics’ publication of a title and character of the same name.

It never hurts to point out that one of the joys of reading and/or collecting comic books is that they remain available today in the back-issue bins of comics shops and on on-line auctions, and every title is new for you if you haven't read it.
Marvel Comics has announced that, due to a printer’s error, its Exiles #86 (JUL061998D) and Marvel Adventures: Fantastic Four #16 (JUL061972D) will now arrive in stores on September 20, not September 13 as expected.
I'd also like to be able to apply a "pull list" automatically to the document to highlight what I may want to look for, then to modify that by hand, and to consolidate data from multiple weeks' lists for titles I didn't find on my first trip.
