 Lowell Institute
The Lowell Institute School, an evening technical program run by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for 94 years and known for offering low-cost courses to community residents, will be moving to Northeastern in 1996.
The school, which offers courses in mechanical, electrical, manufacturing and computer technology, is partially subsidized by the Lowell Institute, of which Northeastern board member John Lowell is sole trustee.
Not only will the new program help boost student enrollments, but its mailing list and alumni base will be a valuable marketing tool for the university.
