Messianic Jews and Hebrew-Christians are mostly persons who consider themselves to be Jewish by birth, ancestry, or culture, but believe that Jesus (whom Messianic Jews generally call Yeshua) is the Messiah, a position rejected by all recognized branches of Judaism.
Although the distinction between Messianic Jews and Hebrew-Christians is not rigid, and some persons (such as Moishe Rosen) self-identify in both categories, there are enough differences between the two movements to regard them as separate.

While Many Messianic Jews are ethnically Jewish (and as such would be considered Jews even by Orthodox Jewish standards), Messianic Judaism is not seen as a legitimate form of Judaism by any recognized Jewish organization or leaders, apart from a handful of dissenting voices among the Reform and Reconstructionist Jewish movements.
Some are attracted because they are in a relationship with a Jew and feel the movement is a "compromise" between Judaism and Christianity, but Many are devout Christians who feel that the movement is a way to better appreciate the Hebrew roots of Christianity while still maintaining their faith.
Messianic Judaism is condemned as heretical and non-Jewish by Reform, Orthodox, Conservative, and Reconstructionist Judaism.

The foundation of Christian theology includes belief in the bodily incarnation of G-d, that G-d exists as a Trinity, and that Jesus was a mediator between G-d and man. "Hebrew Christian" mission-aries claim that this theology is totally compatible with Judaism.
To be a "Jew for Jesus" is as absurd as being a "Christian for Buddha" and as ridiculous as "kosher pork;" it is an obvious contradiction.
In their attempt to justify their Jewishness, certain "Hebrew Christians" have labeled Rabbinic Judaism a cult since they claim that it "follows the words of men rather than G-d." Besides being false, this statement is also hypocritical since "Hebrew Christians" use these very same rabbinic traditions to lend their practices a guise of Jewishness.

Jews are mislead into believing not only was Jesus/Yeshua the Jewish Messiah but that he is also G-D! With that premise, they tell Jews that they can be both Jewish at the same time accept Jesus/Yeshua as Messiah and G-D! That they have not abandoned their religion.
Your Christian spouse may discuss with you their desire for you to become "saved." This may not have been a factor when you dated and eventually married but a spouse may eventually be coaxed by what is broadcasted on Christian Radio or from what is heard from the minister in church on Sunday.
We do ask that the Christian who does not respect the right for the Jew to follow his or her religion as the G-D in the Jewish bible commands the Jew to do, to please refrain from attempts to convert us.

Jews for Jesus gives advice to a Christian father to try to prevent his daughter from marrying a Jew because the Jew is an "unbeliever" (with plenty of quotes from the Christian bible tossed in).
