According to Courtland Nelson, director of the DNR Division of Parks and Recreation, geocaching is a recreational activity involving the use of hand-held GPS (global positioning system).
In addition to free bird checklists that are available for 60 of the state's 72 state parks and recreation areas, the program provides birding kits that visitors can use for free while at the park.
