The Montreal Metro is the main form of public transportation within the city of Montreal and was the second metro system to be built in Canada, opening 12 years after the Toronto subway.
The Metro, operated by the Société_de_transport_de_Montréal, was inaugurated on October_14, 1966, during the tenure of Mayor Jean_Drapeau.
Montreal's rolling stock is among the oldest still in use on any metro system in the world, and the STM is pressing the provincial government hard for the large investment necessary to replace the trains.

Lisbon's metro is full of Art from world known artists, so if you haven't got time to visit an art exposition, then catch the metro in Lisbon.
Lisbon's Metro is definitely my favorite system (or at least tied with Montreal).

Budapest has some lovely and quite old (1896) stations, some of which are very reminiscent of the older-style LDN tube stops.
With all the stations in Montreal they could have found a more interesting one to show (architecturally), like Lionel-Groulx...
One station-- Dupont-- is almost pretty, and a few are frightening in an interesting way, but it is filthy, ugly and utilitarian, in the worst sense of the word, and really, it's not that convenient if you don't live down town.
