Nintendo has been coy with release of information regarding the Revolution, leaving some media outlets with the idea that Nintendo was not prepared or did not have the intention to compete with Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PlayStation 3.
Nintendo recently filed a patent on the interface of the virtual console [20], suggesting that it will be a full emulator, as opposed to using re-written games, and that it may be possible to have extra features such as new characters added to the game.
Nintendo has patents relating to hardware accelerated 'emboss bump mapping'[36]; it is suggested that these patents could relate to hardware for the new Nintendo Revolution.

 Blogging the (Nintendo) Revolution: July 2005
Nintendo, known for software titles featuring characters such as Mario, Donkey Kong and Pokemon, is enjoying strong sales of its DS portable game machine, launched late last year, but sold 60 percent fewer GameCube consoles compared with a year earlier.
Most of its widely anticipated games such as a new "Legend of Zelda" for GameCube and "Pokemon Diamond/Pearl" for DS in Japan are expected to launch in the second half.
Contrary to earlier reports Nintendo of America says a new Resident Evil game might be "announced for the Revolution as well later in the year, when the system is fully unveiled." I sure hope so, RE4 is one of the best games of this generation.

Shown on Cubed are scans and translations of a Famitsu Weekly article that lists all the games the Revolution will be able to download.
Since the games are to be run thru emu, I think the earlier ones might be very cheap indeed.
I can't see how Nintendo could have the rights to B-K and PD. I think this is just a catalog of everything Nintendo has worked on and not an official list.

In an interview, Nintendo of Europe’s Senior Director of Marketing Jim Merrick said that the technical specifications for the company’s next-generation console, code-named the Nintendo Revolution, may never be released.
Mario Revolution, Legend of Zelda: Revolution, Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Revolution, Metroid Prime 3, and Super Smash Bros. Revolution were all listed at $59.99 and scheduled to release March 3, 2006.
Moreover, “the new Mario Paint will be a community-building game and users will be able to share their creations with other DS users and Revolution users.” It is also said that the Revolution version will include 3D modeling capabilities.

This could be said to be the game that went on to become the foundation of Nintendogs years later.
There's more games on that list that don't make sense (Ura Zelda is debatable), and there are numerous others that they own that aren't listed.
At worst it may lead to Nintendo charging slightly more for those titles but the enduring popularity of the Rare games woould probably be worth it with new entries in those franchises appearing on the Xbox 360.

Even if they launch with only one game Smash Bros. and half of the games on this list, it'll still be a bigger guarnteed "hit" launch than the other two consoles.
I'm not a Nintendo hater - I've owned all of their consoles at some point, and bought many of their games (I'm even an importer, I'll only buy the NTSC versions of game consoles) - it's just that they constantly under-deliver to my expectations, and their hardware doesn't stack up to the competition.
Some might be used as incentives to people who purchase Revolution games, or maybe part of a marketing campaign - but if you're dreaming of a free back catalogue, I think you're out of luck.

As I'm sure you heard Famitsu said that All 221 Nintendo published NES, SNES and N64 games will be available for download, and some 3rd party games are in negotiation with 3rd parties.
If this list is true, then a light-gun like device in the controller is confirmed.

This list is still not confirmed, and so remains nothing but rumour and speculation.

i think thats the best link iv eva clicked on if its true, by the way i noticed free radical were on the list hopefully now the controller is perfect for FPS, they can deliver a true shooter with roots to the legendary goldeneye.
I have to agree, that is the one thing really missing from the GCN, the fps.  That and a real street fighter game.  Capcom vs SNK 2eo, eh ok.  I am only upset that Capcom Classics and Showdown Legends of wrestling didnt make it to the GCN.
The Action/Adventure Genre is all locked up and the wrestling games will be good.

I decided this weekend that as a b-day present to the Zelda world that I would make a flash game dedicated to the most recent Zelda game, Minish Cap.
To date, this game has inspired 12 official sequels (depending on how you count).
Two days ago, Nintendo marketing VP Reggie Fils-Aime was interviewed on the SpikeTV show "Gamehead." He confirmed, among other things, that the new Zelda game will be released this fall.
