This is a band that does outstanding things with cover designs, and although the CD is smaller than the original vinyl, people have the opportunity to view the cover the way it was originally intended.
I've posted reviews for all of them, and on each, I felt that Capitol has also done an outstanding job going back and enhancing the old master tapes to the point where the audio was crystal clear and really gave the listener a feel for the brilliant, and much underrated musicianship of the band.
Each of the band members is in top form on it, and it transitions about halfway into a lengthy instrumental with a soul choir that provides a nice finish to a partially decent record.

In 1972, this new line-up released America Eats Its Young, but many members left the group after that, due to internal squabbles, plus Hazel spending a year in jail for drug possession and assault, Tawl Ross experiencing either a bad LSD trip and/or a speed overdose, while Billy Bass quit due to financial concerns.
With the new found fame of Funkadelic, longtime members Fuzzy Haskins, Calvin Simon and Grady Thomas (who were original Parliaments) left the group (in 1977) and released a single, "Connections and Disconnections" under the name Funkadelic (in 1981).

Originally, "P-Funk" was simply a slang expression for two George Clinton bands with members in common, first Parliament, and then Funkadelic.
The two groups often are referred to jointly as "Parliament-Funkadelic." P-funk is also an abbreviation for "pure funk," a genre of music embodied by the Clinton bands; and "Plainfield Funk," referring to Plainfield, New Jersey, Parliament's hometown.
The breakout popularity of Parliament-Funkadelic also led to a broader application of "P-funk" to mean something in its quintessence, of superior quality, or sui generis, as in the lyrics from "P-Funk," a hit single from Parliament's album Mothership Connection: "I want the bomb.
