The lists are arranged chronologically by date of death, and span the period from 1812 (old cemetery) or 1853 (new cemetery) until 28 July 1901.
The bulk of the work is comprised of an alphabetical list of 1170 persons distinguished in their service of the town, region, or country, and buried at the Cmentarz komunalny in the years 1889-1994, or who have symbolic graves erected at that location.

Wiktor Siminski (1897-1966) was a Pole who was a veteran of the Silesian Uprisings (in 1920 and 1921, against Germans) and an artist who survived a Nazi camp at Sachsenhausen.
