Private Snafu - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Private Snafu is the title character of a series of fl-and-white instructional cartoon shorts produced between 1943 and 1945 during World War II.
Most of the Private Snafu shorts are educational, and although The Pentagon had to approve the storyboards, the Warner directors were allowed great latitude in order to keep the cartoons entertaining.
Towards the end of the war, other studios began producing Snafu shorts as well (the Army accused Schlesinger of padding his bills), though some of these never made it to celluloid before the war ended.

Snafus were made for the military (certainly THEY didn't ban them) and Easy Does It is a 20 min.
A good example of this are the two "Sergeant Snafu" cartoons ("Booby Traps" and "Spies"), which were clearly created for the military and not for general public consumption, and are a brilliant example of the type of entertainment provided to the military even today (frankly, Bob Hope was often more controversial than these cartoons).
