Many companies do not fully understand the terminology of Incentives, MICE etc but when asked about their interests and possibilities of organising specialised meetings and seminars in worldwide destinations, there was an outstanding number of positive replies.
We were convinced that Companies were travelling but not under the banner of "Incentives" said a spokeswoman from the Moscow International Workshops.
Initial survey results were mainly from companies in the Moscow and St. Petersburg areas, with replies still being processed from companies in the vast regions of Russia.

Russian firms bought about 30 per cent of the oil sold under Iraq's now-defunct oil-for-food programme, according to a UN investigator's extensive list of companies that did business with Saddam Hussein's government.
Russian firms and traders buying Iraqi crude were in first place with US$19 billion (HK$148.2 billion) worth of contracts among 64 nations.
His list from Iraqi sources, still to be verified, showed more than 25 per cent of the allocations or vouchers going to Russian individuals, political parties and government ministries.

These data is presented in the research 'Informational transparency of the Russian companies in 2005' conducted by the Standard and Poor's rating agency supported by the Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange.
'Telecommunication companies use all possible resources to attract finances, and the informational openness is the cheapest of them.' Gazprom occupies the 16th place, RAO UES is the 26th, Sberbank is the 35th and YUKOS, which occupied the 3rd place in 2002, occupies the 48th at the moment.
The indices of ten companies worsened by average 4 percent.

The LSE said the value of Russian securities traded on its IOB was $64 billion in 2004, up from $36 billion a year earlier and accounting for 59 percent of IOB volume.
Other companies are also expected to arrive from former Soviet states, notably Ukraine and Kazakhstan —- especially banking and resources firms such as copper producer Kazakhmys.

Four Russian energy companies have been included in the "Financial Times" list of the 500 largest global corporations, "Vremya novostei" reported on 13 May. Yukos, with a total capitalization of $18.7 billion, was the highest-ranking Russian company in 227th place.
The newspaper noted that the appearance of the Russian companies on the prestigious list can be attributed to the relative reduction in capitalization of leading transnationals because of the downturn in the global economy and the relatively rapid growth of the Russian energy companies.
Meanwhile, the magazine "Kommersant-Dengi" will publish its lists of the world's largest companies, Europe's largest companies, and Eastern Europe's largest companies on 15 May, "Kommersant-Daily" reported on 13 May.
