Ex Astris Scientia - Religion in Star Trek
Star Trek's takes on religious topics are often critical, and they almost routinely close with a victory of science over faith.
Star Trek frequently shows that there is someone or something indeed, only that this is always a "false god" that would not deserve to be worshipped.
Star Trek itself has discussed spiritual issues without a reference to a god countless times, it is full of spirituality that just pretends to be of profane scientific nature.

Star Trek was a science fiction television series created by Gene Roddenberry in the 1960s.
However, during the 1970s Star Trek became popular in syndication, eventually leading to a motion picture[?], five sequels, four additional television series, and four additional movies based on Star Trek: The Next Generation.
As reported by Herb Solow[?] and Robert Justman[?] in their book Inside Star Trek: The Real Story, Gene Roddenberry wrote them without composer Alexander Courage[?]'s knowledge, and without intending for them ever to be sung, so that he would nevertheless get a 50% share of the music's performance royalties.
