But it shows that even with such a bad role on her part, Costner still managed to carry this film well on his own (though Hurt was awesome too).
I also noticed someone on my 'friends' list gave this a 1 out of 10 (and she gave a Olsen Twin film a 10 out of 10).

"The Flintstones" was so dead-on satirical in its view of a prehistoric suburban world that I don't really understand it when people tell me they liked "The Jetsons" better.
I don't know why the Hanna-Barbera team weren't able to duplicate the quality of this show in terms of its writing and voice-casting (perhaps it was all a fluke?), but "The Flintstones" has it all: great writing and voices which bring one-dimensional drawings to life, terrific plots, fantastic music by Hoyt Curtin.

Though there'd be movies (A Man Called Flintstone, I Yabba Dabba Do and the dubious live-action movie), Christmas specials (albiet with the late Alan Reed's replacement Henry Corden), spinoffs (Pebbles and Bamm Bamm and Fred and Barney) and a breakfast cereal which sells to this day, nothing beat the original 6 seasons of the Flintstones.
