Talk:List of North American area codes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
US (or NANP) is not the the only place in the world that has its own "area codes"; and in no way are the NANP area codes unique within the area codes of the world, as they are only specific to their country (or in NANPs case, country code).
Seems to me the "starting with 1" comment doesn't belong on a list page, especially not in the opening para; it would presumably be explained on the Area code or NANP page.
There's a lot to be said about the history of Area code 213 or Area code 212.

 Countries - Encyclopedia.WorldSearch
A country, a land, or a state, is a geographical area and an independent political entity with its own government, administration, laws, often a constitution, police, military, tax rules, and people.
Sometimes, parts of states with a distinct history or culture are called "lands" or "countries": England, Scotland and Wales – the three nations on the island of Great Britain – are known as countries, even though they are effectively governed as "components" of the British state.
Other states, such as Canada, the People's Republic of China, Spain or the United Kingdom contain several nations (or, at least, some parts of the population call themselves a nation), in spite of some of them considering themselves as nation states.

List of constellations - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The ancient Greeks originated many constellations that are still in use today, many of which were recorded by Ptolemy.
Other proposed constellations didn't succeed in becoming recognised, most notably Quadrans Muralis (now part of Boötes) for which the Quadrantid meteors are named.
One of Ptolemy's constellations, Argo Navis, no longer exists, having been split into the modern constellations of Carina, Puppis and Vela.

Centaurus (the centaur) was one of the 48 constellations listed by Ptolemy, and counts also among the 88 modern constellations.
It contains Proxima Centauri, a red dwarf that is the nearest known star (other than the Sun) to Earth, as well as Alpha Centauri, which is a triple star to which Proxima Centauri is apparently gravitationally bound.
Centaurus is a bright constellation of the southern hemisphere.

 CONSTELLATION FACTS AND INFORMATION
An "unofficial" constellation, that is, one that may be widely known but is not recognized by astronomers or the International_Astronomical_Union, is also called an asterism, such as The_Plough (also known in the US as the Big_Dipper) and the Little_Dipper.
Twelve of the constellations in the southern celestial hemisphere were not observable by the Greeks, and were created by Dutch navigators Pieter_Dirkszoon_Keyser and Frederick_de_Houtman in the sixteenth century and first cataloged by Johann_Bayer.
The grouping of stars into constellations is essentially arbitrary, and different cultures have had different constellations, although a few of the more obvious ones tend to recur frequently, e.g., Orion and Scorpius.
