 SEAS Endowment Funds
For centuries, gifts to the endowments of colleges and universities have been the primary means by which individuals share their resources with future generations and help sustain the forward march of humankind.
Most endowment funds are named for the donor or another honored person and thus serve as a continuing legacy of an individual's commitment to education and society.
An endowment donor is a special kind of benefactor, one whose commitment is unusually deep and whose vision is unusually long, an individual with an understanding and appreciation of higher education's purpose and importance.

This is important because some colleges and universities do not rely solely upon the federal formula.
Some colleges and universities (often more selective schools) may include these kinds of resources, which could mean that the college will expect the family to pay more, even if the federal formula doesn’t say that they should.
When a college chooses to look at these additional factors, they usually require the student to complete another financial aid form – often times it is a form called the CCS Profile.
