Upper Canada College (UCC) is an all-male elementary and secondary school in Toronto, Canada, the oldest independent school in the province of Ontario and the third oldest school in Canada.
On March 4, 1837, the King's College charter was amended to take UCC in under the control of the university, with the principal to be appointed by the King, the vice-principal and masters nominated by the Chancellor of King's College (the Lieutenant-Governor) at the approval of the King's College Council.
Upper Canada College also owns and maintains an outdoor educational facility located in Norval, Ontario, which is Canada's oldest "outdoor school." Though the College only uses a select few, the Norval property is over 450 acres (181 hectares) in area, containing much of the area's Credit River.

In one study of 326 cases of upper respiratory infection, the herb decoction was considered effective in all cases.
In the treatment of 300 cases of acute bacillary dysentery and gastroenteritis, fever subsided after one day of taking the decoction, and stool examination was normalized within five days.
Isatis was also judged to be 76.4 percent effective in case reports on the treatment of viral skin conditions such as herpes simplex and herpes zoster.

The school was founded in the hopes it would serve as a feeder school to the newly founded King's College (later the University of Toronto), and was modeled on the great public schools of Britain, most notably Eton College.

Educated at the Upper Canada College, Rogers graduated from Trinity College at the University of Toronto graduating in 1956 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
In 1960, while still a student at Osgoode Hall Law School of York University, he bought all the shares in local radio station (CHFI) that pioneered the use of FM (frequency modulation) at a time when only 5% of the Toronto households had FM receivers.
By 1965, he was in the cable TV business; Rogers Communications was established in 1967 and has grown into one of Canada's largest media conglomerates.

Colorado College's internationally renowned experimental music group, The Bowed Piano Ensemble, gives voice to the piano's many sounds by using fish line, brushes, strumming and dampened keystrokes, performed in the Allen Room, Frederick P. Rose Hall, Home of Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City on October 28, 2006.
The Bowed Piano Ensemble is an elite group of 10 students, faculty, and staff musicians exploring the leading edge of performance with sounds made directly on the strings of a grand piano.
