 Wu-Tang Monastery: FAQ - Albums
I list their post-Wu albums out of pure interest because as a fan, I'd still like to collect as much of their material as possible.
I won't list "vinyl only" albums as they are out of the reach of most people.
A: It must be released or promoted as either a full album or an EP, and needs to have been released on CD (the Wu-Tang Clan and Gravediggaz Demo Tapes are the only exceptions).

Amazon.com: The W [EXPLICIT LYRICS]: Music
Their debut album, "Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)" was met with much critical acclaim (even being labeled as one of the best rap albums of the '90's).
While the album did have it's fair share of good songs, it seemed that there were more mediocre tracks and filler than memorial ones.
Elsewhere, The W is Ghost's record, especially on the unhinged lament "I Can't Go to Sleep" and the prostrate plea "Jah World." Memorably, Snoop and ODB collaborate to comic effect on "Conditioner," and all the album's cameos--from Redman and Nas to Isaac Hayes and Busta Rhymes--show that the group is still as savvy as ever.

 Spin's Top 100 from 1985-2005
You could do a list of the best indie-electronic albums of the last 10 years, but just saying the best music period is too broad.
While the other albums may have had more of an impact on hip-hop, I list Paul's Boutique becuase of the innovation of the album's pervasive sampling (hundreds of samples, a feat that would be impossible today) and its influence on a wide variety of artists like Beck, Grandaddy, Ween, The Avalanches, etc.
On your top 20 list: Paul's Boutique more influential than 3 Ft. High And Rising, The Chronic, Enter The Wu Tang (36 Chambers), The Blueprint and Illmatic?!

Five of his favorites were by artists who belong to the Five Percent Nation (Raekwon, Eric B and Rakim, Wu-Tang Clan, Nas, and Mobb Deep); a sixth was by A Tribe Called Quest, two of whose members are orthodox ("Sunni") Muslims.
Asked in 1995 by music magazine L'Affiche to list his ten favorite albums (Cachin 1995:22), Akhenaton's choices were all US rap releases.
The trajectory of TGU's work is clearly consistent with Aki's broadly-conceived anti-racist politics, his "punk attitude," and his commitment to "reshuffling the global sound archives" while at the same time "insist[ing] on the primacy of their source material" (Toop 1993:14).

Only Built 4 Cuban Linx -
Deviating from past Wu-Tang efforts and heralding a narrative-driven concept that redefined the Gangsta Rap genre, Raekwon's solo album is widely considered to be one of the greatest albums of hip hop in the 1990s.
In fact, it was one of the sixteen hip hop albums to be included in Pitchfork Media's Best Albums Of The 90s Redux list, and was listed as one of thirty-three hip hop/RandB albums in Rolling Stone's Essential Recordings Of The 90s list.
Since then, the album is widely regarded as the quintessential hip-hop recording of the 1990s, spawning a myriad of imitators and influencing several prominent hip-hop artists such as Nas (who subsequently adopted the Wu-Gambino inspired alias, "Escobar") and The Notorious B.I.G. (who made the transition from "thug" to "kingpin" between his debut and sophomore releases)[4].

Elektra issued ODB’s first two acclaimed full-lengths, both of which went gold: Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version in 1995 (Wu-Tang’s 1993 debut was entitled Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers) and the Top Ten Nigga Please in 1999.
THERE’S A GREAT STORY behind the making of some albums, but few measure up to rapper Ol’ Dirty Bastard ’s D3 Entertainment release The Trials and Tribulations of Russell Jones (March 19).
Russell Jones (the rapper’s real name) was recorded over the course of 18 months after his departure from Elektra and before his incarceration.

Ghostface Killah :: Bulletproof Wallets :: Epic Records/Sony Music
While I'm giving a full point deduction to the overall score for screwing up the tracklisting so bad and apparently removing a song with Slick Rick at the last minute, "Bulletproof Wallets" won't fail the people who expected a quality Ghostface album to keep the Wu-Tang's rep healthy.
Def Jam used to be the worst offender (they released some infamously wrong albums for EPMD and Onyx) but Epic Records has become the new errors champion.
When you're on a billion dollar record label, with a multi-million dollar contract, and million dollar budgets for music videos, what possible reason is there for having a screwed up, incorrect, and confusing ass list of songs on the back cover of your album that doesn't even correspond to what's on it?
