To sample the variety of agricultural stakeholders, we spoke with organizations as diverse as the Nebraska Farm Bureau, two county chairmen of Farm Bureau chapters, the Nebraska and Iowa Farmers Union, and staff and members of Practical Farmers of Iowa.
Other organizations with concerns about environmental impacts, national forests, wetlands and land use, urban quality of life, the role of corporations in developing natural resources, agricultural forestry, and/or sustainable agriculture have a mixed response to the idea of energy crops and residues for bioenergy.
