The Anarchist Platform - a mailing list for anarchists   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-05)
The purpose of the list is to bring together anarchists who agree with the points both for the exchange of information but also in the hope that they will meet up with others on the list in their geographical region and engage in common work.
As such list members are expected to actively pursue this agenda and not simply lurk (a common feature of other lists).
We identify ourselves as anarchists and with the 'Platformist' tradition within anarchism which includes groups and publications such as "The Organisational Platform of the Libertarian Communists", the "Friends of Durruti" and the "Manifesto of Libertarian Communism".

Infoshop.org - An Anarchist FAQ - An Anarchist FAQ after ten years (via CobWeb/3.1 planetlab2.cs.virginia.edu)   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-05)
To be a resource for existing anarchists, to use to bolster their activism and activities by presenting facts, arguments and figures to allow them to defend anarchism against those opposed to it (Marxists, capitalists, etc.).
Anarchist organisations and activism increased and the awareness that anarchism was anti-hierarchy, anti-state and anti-capitalist increased.
What seems funny is that they just do not comprehend that anarchists take offence to their pretensions of labelling their ideology "anarchism," that we would seek to refute such claims and that their notion that "anarcho"-capitalism is anarchist is far more biased.

Critique of Green Anarchy | CrimethInc.Net/work ...v.7.1.8...   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-05)
Green anarchists want to “destroy all the institutions and physical manifestations of this nightmare.” Civilization is a spectre that haunts the minds of those who oppose it, a “death-culture” manifesting itself in the world of the living.
For green anarchists, “ideology” and “the left” are merely ideas that we “need to get beyond.” How or why these things are produced by the current social order is not of interest to them.
Green anarchists must see civilization as something that is always present, always behind everything (“it is a mechanistic worldview that is behind industrialism”).

May 2000 Hermes Article- Those Crazy Anarchists
In fact, by referring to them as “the anarchists” rather than by their name, you ignore all of the other anarchists in attendance, without whom the protests could not have happened.
It is an insult to the thousands of anarchists that are a part of the movement to be either lumped together or ignored completely.
Of course, anarchists do not necessarily believe that society would be able to make a change towards such a system in the near future, but, nonetheless, they have a vision for society which few would argue would be very positive, but which most people would consider an unreachable Utopia.
