Animation is the technique in which each frame of a film is produced individually, whether generated as a computer graphic, or by photographing a drawn image, or by repeatedly making small changes to a model unit (see claymation and stop motion), and then photographing the result with a special animation camera.
Film preservation of decaying film stock is a matter of concern to both film historians and archivists, and to companies interested in preserving their existing products in order to make them available to future generations (and thereby increase revenue).
Stock widths and the film format for images on the reel have had a rich history, though most large commercial films are still shot on (and distributed to theaters) as 35 mm prints.

Lists like this are tough because some films are there for technical and milestone reasons while some are there for the fact that they stand alone as great films regardless of technique.
The South American/post-war disney films were the best examples of Mary Blairs work, which inspired the Alice in Wonderland style especially, but I don't think you need both 3 cabelleros and Make Mine Music or Ichabod and Mr.
One Disney feature that gets under-recognized is "The Rescuers Down Under" -- beautifully animated, the rare Disney non-musical, and it was the first time CAPS was used.

The DVD features six episodes of the series and carries a running time of approximately 135 minutes.
Coverage in the Los Angeles Times noted that this take is comparable to DreamWorks' Madagascar and Shark Tale (which grossed $47.6 and $47.2 million, respectively) and is the highest opening weekend gross for any animated Disney film since Lilo and Stitch, but still fell short of the $70.5 million opening gate for Disney/Pixar's The Incredibles.
