Biblical armies also are often based on light foot (auxilia) used as main line-of-battle troops, and they have a very different feel to them than armies of the later eras.

The idea of taking a themed army is to give your opponent an enjoyable and memorable experience (win or lose) while at the same time test and further develop the player's skill as a general.
Hey, it's tough to pass up all the great troops in an army list but the challenge in creating a themed army is to avoid the temptation of taking all the best units.
An example of an army inspired by WHFRP would be a Chaos cult army with cultists with hooded cloaks (Chaos Marauders), a priest (Chaos Sorcerer), and Inner Sanctum members (Chaos Warriors) with a summoning circle on the display tray.

The thing to remember about the OGBM list is that there is a specific design goal in mind for the army and it is that design that informs the list so its has a "loftier" ambition other than being a series of Gargants in a list.
I may be unsure right now about their inclusion as GT lists, and I do feel that players should NOT use them as a gauge of the effectiveness of any of the published lists, but I am confident that both Yourself and Dysartes can get it worked out.
And, since the war engine based armies have had some trouble with the standard GT scenario, and have had 'fixes' required to make them competetive (grot rule, introduction of some infantry etc), then if they are in a separate class we could devise a different GT scenario for this class.

The ottoman armies were raised around a core of disciplined troops, spahi (by the way, neither spahi or mamluks are a direct copy of knights, they are the result of a long eastern and steppe tradition of heavy cavalry), janissary, engineers etc.
Anyway the Saracen armies were by no means a bunch of unruly barbarians, on the countrary they usually consisted of professional soldiers, and because of this the armies were smaller than usually imagined.
The Saracen armies also focused on professional soldiers(mostly cavalry) either recruited from slaves and then given a high amount of training(after their training they were freed and they were also paid, either in cash or with fiefs) or they were simply mercenaries, the fatimids even used some Western European mercenaries as did the Seljuks.

Most lists enforce a restriction that only one elephant may be taken per 1000 points, the Indians may take one per 500 points and may thus field up to four in a normal sized 2000 point WAB game.
The Indian army list has had some significant errata applied to it since the publishing of AoA, the main effect to elephants is the limiting their crewman to only composite bows instead of the (overrated in all rulesets in my opinion) Indian Longbow.
This list encompasses armies from the age of Philip II to Alexander to the Diadochi, and later declining Successor Empires.

It’s an interesting list in Armies of Antiquity because Hannibal won most of his victories with cunning manoeuvres and cavalry, yet most armies that I have seen on the table do not make use of this cavalry.
The list is very generic and will benefit from a full army list with the different city-states highlighted, especially Sparta.
All the various armies in WAB have their strengths and weaknesses, and as a general rule I would always recommend you choose an army and period of history that interests you personally, rather than one that you feel might win a lot of games, because ultimately you will be disappointed.

Mexica armies were extremely solid, keeping ongoing pressure up against the enemy line while commanders looked for weak points or flanks against which elite shock troops could be sent.
Aztec armies used their Pochteca traders to discover the lie of the land before a campaign began.
These cities fought in a similar fashion to the great armies of the triple alliance, although their regional weapons could differ from the Aztec norm (such as the cuauhulolli, a long handled halberd).

I actually meant "which existing army lists would be added to the enemies of the Egyptians?" rather than "which tribes/peoples would be added?".
Also, that list from Herodotus is as at the time of the Persian attack on Skythia (I've read past that section now), possibly but not necessarily also accurate for an earlier Egyptian campaign (if it occurred).
Mike I belive the Bronze age army Italian army lists must cove the Italins you are looking for.

This list covers the African kingdoms of the Sahel region, south of the Sahara Desert, and also the area around Lake Chad, from the height of the Empire of Ghana in the 11th century until the collapse of Songhai following Moroccan raids at the end of the 16th century.
The Berber list represents the Almoravid invasion of Ghana.
The Moroccan army at Tondibi was too heavily armed with shot to be represented in DBA.

 Relic Forums - Deciding on a new army thanks to a challenge
Build an army from a list of armies they would pick for me. This led to a good bit of taunting from a few of the people I play more regularly who all had some very un-helpful army suggestions.
First this is not a list for tournament play so IA is open to me, that is where I can get the multiple looted rhino's from, they basically are a substitute for guntrukks.
This is a fun secondary list for me and the people I have to play for the challenge are not exactly gamers who make me think a perfect list is needed.
