In the television industry (especially in North America), an owned-and-operated station (frequently abbreviated as OandO) usually refers to a television station or radio station that is owned by the network with which it is associated.
For example, a station owned and operated by the ABC network is referred to as an ABC station or an ABC OandO but normally should not be referred to as an affiliate.
In Australia, Seven Network and Network Ten own and operate their stations in the five largest metropolitan areas (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide), which together account for about half of the country's population.

Gannett was also rated the front-runner by Steven Barlow of Prudential Financial, who put only a slightly less expensive price tag of $65 a share, a premium of about 18.6% over its close last Friday of $54.81.
Newspaper analyst John Morton said the speculation about Gannett is understandable because it is already publishing with Pulitzer in Tucson, where it owns the Tucson Citizen and Pulitzer the much bigger Arizona Daily Star.
