  Videogames of the Oppressed
The choice of videogames as a medium is carrying an ideological baggage that includes both videogames conventions and the personal and social perception of computer-based entertainment.
Since the whole idea behind “videogames of the oppressed” is to provide a means of communication by using projects that are relevant to the participants, the final design may also include some space for general videogame design discussion.
In addition to this, since the technique is based on videogames designed a couple of decades ago, it may be possible that some or many of the participants are not familiar with them.

Adrian Crook - Violence in Video Games, My Opinion
But using ESRB ratings as a way to mete out videogames at a retail level according to age — similar to movie theatres granting admission only to those who meet or exceed the rating level of the movie — is not something that works.
Because as large and wide as the videogame market grows, its core demographic — the age and gender that continues to be the tractor that pulls the sled — are young males.
So perhaps the problem with kids and their unhealthy lifestyles is not due to a contribution from videogames but rather the lack of a contribution from their parents.

In my eyes, this banned list is a struggle to save a game that's in the slump ever since its beginning...rather than something that will ruin the game, it's a smart move to make it more diverse and better.
I hope this list remains with some additions and subtractions for the remainder of the game...but I hope even more that this list reaches this side of the world.

ODP achieved the milestone of indexing two million URLs on August 14, 2000, and the milestone of three million listings was reached on November 18, 2001.
Listings on a similar topic are grouped into categories, which can then include smaller categories.
Due to the popularity of the Open Directory and its resulting impact on search engine rankings, domains with lapsed registration that are listed on ODP are an attractive nuisance for domain hijacking, an issue that has been addressed by removing expired domains from the directory.

Despite all the outrage about videogames, the year of 1993 was far from bad overall, with games like FIFA International Soccer and Micro Machines making their first of many appearances.
One of the biggest events in videogame history was that no more generations would grow up with the word "Sega" stamped on the front of their consoles.
Looking back at the history of videogames who knows what the future holds for Sega, but as the console wars rage on, and new companies try to enter the industry, you can bet it's going to be exciting.

When a ban is added to 1 server, all the servers will update their individual banned list on their next map rotation.
People are free to modify and add/remove bans as this will not affect anything as it is only a mock System which will be representative of the one you would install on your server.

Schiller Institute- Helga LaRouche Calls for Ban On Violent Videogames
This is necessary, because this "New Violence," as manifested in the massacre in Erfurt, is by no means a "sociological accident" or a "freak incident." Rather, it is a worldwide phenomenon, one which represents as grave a threat to human civilization, as does the outbreak of a new life-threatening epidemic disease.
A ban on violent videos, and cooperation with responsible representatives of the media, are correct and necessary measures.
Once it is understood that is not a one-time freak incident—albeit the most horrible incident to date—but that on the contrary, this New Violence is a just as much a threat to human civilization, as a global outbreak of cannibalism—only then does it become clear that we must react in a far more fundamental way.

Idle Forums - Manhunt blamed for teenage murder, right-minded people urged to "Ban this sick filth now!"
Parents of murdered 14-year-old Stefan Pakeerah expressed their concerns that the murder was linked to the game (knives and hammers being equippable weapons in the title), that Leblanc had been "obsessed" with the game and that its marketing as a "psychological experience" might have aided in the blurring of the reality/game boundary.
The usual tabloid hysteria follows, with papers screaming for all violent videogames to be banned, or at the least for the UK to follow in the footsteps of New Zealand, where Manhunt has been banned for the last six months.
Rather than blame the videogames, the parents, the law, society, or just "the world we live in", it appears that the British Judiciary have taken the sensible step of blaming the murderer, who can expect a life sentence to be handed down shortly.

Furthermore, the interactivity of a videogame disrupts the traditional flow of a story, which is why the story must be custom-tailored to a video game; a book-like videogame will be too "boring" and not succeed.
