Pitch (baseball) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In baseball, a pitch is the act of throwing a baseball toward home plate to start a play.
To obtain variety, and therefore enhance defensive baseball strategy, the pitcher manipulates the grip on the ball at the point of release.
The fastball is the most common pitch in baseball, and all pitchers have some form of a fastball in their arsenal.

Breaking ball - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In baseball, a breaking ball is a pitch which does not travel straight like a fastball as it approaches the batter.
The pitcher must therefore have confidence in the catcher to block a ball in the dirt when there are runners on base, as if the ball gets away from the catcher the runners will likely advance.
If a breaking ball fails to break, it becomes a high, slow pitch that is very easy to hit, and often results in extra bases or a home run.

 Baseball
Baseball is a direct descendant of cricket and rounders, and it is very similar to softball.
In its usual form, the game of baseball is played between two teams of nine players on a playing field consisting of four bases, arranged in a diagonal square ("the diamond") and a large outfield extending from two adjacent sides of the diamond.
In Major League Baseball the longest game played was a 26-inning affair between the Brooklyn Robins (now called the Los Angeles Dodgers) and Boston Braves (now in Atlanta) on May 1, 1920 (the game ended in a 1-1 tie called on account of darkness).

 Informat.io on Pitcher
In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter who attempts to either make contact with it or draw a walk.
In most cases, the object of a pitch is to deliver the ball to the catcher without allowing the batter to hit the ball.
The ball is delivered in such a way that the batter either can't hit a pitch through the strike zone or is compelled to swing at a pitch outside of the strike zone.
