Scientific classification - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Scientific classification or biological classification is how biologists group and categorize extinct and living species of organisms.
Augustus Quirinus Rivinus (1652–1723), in his classification of plants based on the characters of the flower, introduced the category of order (corresponding to the "higher" genera of John Ray and Andrea Caesalpino).
He was the first to abolish the ancient division of plants into herbs and trees and insisted that the true method of division should be based on the parts of the fructification alone.

WASHINGTON (AP) — American forces heard Osama bin Laden giving orders over short-range radio in the Tora Bora area of eastern Afghanistan during all-out assaults this past week on the rugged mountains and caves where he is believed hiding, a U.S. official said Saturday.
Rumsfeld, speaking en route to visit American troops at a base near Afghanistan, told reporters the discovery — which had occurred within the previous 24 hours — was very interesting but did not describe what was found in more detail.
The camp, located only a few miles from the U.S. military's remote desert base about 70 miles from the southern Afghan city of Kandahar, has been on the military's list of targets to investigate, Rumsfeld said.
